Queer-feminist politics: Feeling bad is political

Nous vous invitons à la 4ème séance des rencontres "Penser les rapports de pouvoirs articulés : classe, genre, racialisation, sexualité", qui aura lieu le 7 juillet de 14 à 17 heures en salle Germaine Tillon. 

 

La séance est organisée autour du travail de l'artiste et curatrice Karin Michalski, professeure intérimaire à l'académie des arts de Cologne. Ci-dessous, un petit texte de présentation de cette séance qui aura lieu en anglais  : 

 

"Queer-feminist politics: Feeling bad is political“
Karin Michalski and ‚The Alphabet of Feeling Bad’ : Discussion, Sarah Kiani (CMB)

In this session we will play ‚The Alphabet of Feeling Bad’ (Germany 2012, 13 min.) by Karin Michalski, and discuss it with the artist.
The film shows an experimental interview with the theorist and activist Ann Cvetkovich, who uses the form of the Alphabet, from A to Z, to define negative feelings of the everyday life.
We will discuss the work of Karin Michalski, in order to place the film in the wider context of queer feminist practices of politicizing the ‚personal’, in a historical perspective, from the 1970s women's movement to the queer's movement,  but also some of the visual choices of the author by placing those in the context of art video and activism since the 1970s.
