The CMB 2025 has introduced career counselling for postdocs. This is in response to the increased need for career guidance in a context of limited long-term career prospects in academia. Employed postdocs and doctoral candidates in the final stages of their studies can take advantage of a series of individual career counselling sessions with the research advisor to gain professional orientation, clarify their own profile and develop application strategies.

We work with institutes belonging to the BR50 association of non-university research institutions and the Berlin University Alliance, as well as various partners outside academia. This regional network enables us to provide targeted support to individual researchers, for example by arranging seminars on skills development or on opening up career options in science-related or non-scientific fields.The research advisor coordinates and implements the area of funding and career counselling.
