On 5 December 2025 at 4:00 PM CET, we will host the public webinar “Far-Right Networks in Motion”, an event dedicated to examining the shifting landscape of far-right transnationalization. Recent developments – such as the annulment of the Romanian presidential elections and the growing coordination among far-right actors across Europe – underscore the extent to which these networks are evolving and gaining influence.

This webinar will explore the factors enabling these transnational connections, the limitations they face, and the ways in which nationalism – long a defining feature of far-right politics – is being reshaped. As new identity-based and civilizational frames emerge, scholars and policy experts are increasingly challenged to understand the broader implications for contemporary politics.

We are delighted to have the following speakers:

  • Cas Mudde – Professor, University of Georgia, U.S.

  • Zsuzsanna Végh – Program Officer, German Marshall Fund of the United States

  • Camil Pârvu – Associate Professor, University of Bucharest (STEPPE)

Opening remarks: Prof. Isabella Löhr, Leibnitz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam / Free University Berlin (STEPPE)

Moderator: Nino Gozalishvili, The University of Georgia, Georgia (STEPPE)

The webinar is jointly organized by the STEPPE project (Centre Marc Bloch), the Leibniz Centre for Contemporary History Potsdam (ZZF), the University of Georgia, and the German Marshall Fund of the United States.
