Research Event “Social Innovation”  14. Dezember 2023 Centre Marc Bloch e.V., 14.12.2023 The concept of social innovation has gained widespread acceptance over the past two decades in the context of OECD and European Union activities. Its definitions are numerous. Overall, they reflect the normative character that the concept has expressed from the beginning. From 9:30 to 16:30, a Research Event will take place in the rooms of the CMB to discuss the topic of social innovation from the perspective of science and practice in a German-French and European perspective. Up to ten scientists and practitioners are invited; the working language will be English. The workshop will consist of a keynote address and two discussion sessions. The keynote (Simone Baglione, Università di Parma) will open the field through a European comparative perspective, introducing the different definitions and policies of social innovation and setting the conceptual framework. This will be followed by two discussion panels on (i) social inclusion of people with disabilities and (ii) migration and the labor market.
