PD Dr. Anja Röcke

Anja Röcke ist habilitierte Soziologin mit den Arbeitsschwerpunkten Kultursoziologie, Allgemeine Soziologie, Europasoziologie, soziologische Theorie und politische Soziologie. Seit Oktober 2023 ist sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Bereich gesellschaftswissenschaftliche Europaforschung an der Universität des Saarlandes. Anja Röcke studierte Sozialwissenschaften (Soziologie und Politikwissenschaft) an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin und an der École Normale Supérieure Cachan. Ihre Diplomarbeit zum Thema „Losverfahren und Demokratie. Historische und demokratietheoretische Perspektiven“ (2005, LIT Verlag) wurde mit dem „Erhard-Höpfner-Preis“ ausgezeichnet. 2009 wurde sie am Europäischen Hochschulinstitut in Florenz im Bereich „Social and Political Sciences“ promoviert. Die Arbeit erschien 2014 bei Palgrave MacMillan unter dem Titel „Framing Citizen Participation. Participatory Budgeting in France, Germany and the United Kingdom“;

2017 in chinesischer Übersetzung. Zeitgleich war sie in ein internationales, von der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung finanziertes Forschungsprojekt zum europäischen Bürgerhaushalt eingebunden und an die Berlin Graduate School for Social Sciences und an das Centre Marc Bloch assoziiert. Von 2009 bis 2019 war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl für Allgemeine Soziologie am Institut für Sozialwissenschaften (ISW) der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, den sie im Wintersemester 2019-20 als Gastprofessorin vertreten hat. Danach war sie mit einer eigenen Stelle (HU Postdoc-Förderung bis Ende 2022) an den Lehrbereich assoziiert und ist dort nach wie vor Privatdozentin. Zwischen 2020 und 2022 hat sie als Gastprofessorin drei Semester den Lehrbereich „Makrosoziologie“ an der HU Berlin vertreten. Im Juni 2020 hat sie sich für das Fach Soziologie mit einer Arbeit über Selbstoptimierung habilitiert, die unter dem Titel „Soziologie der Selbstoptimierung“ im Suhrkamp Verlag erschienen ist (April 2021).;

Anja Röcke est sociologue habilitée, spécialisée dans la sociologie de la culture, les théories sociologiques et la sociologie politique. Depuis octobre 2023, elle est chercheuse au Département d'Études sociales européennes de l'Université de la Sarre (UdS). Anja Röcke a fait ses études en sciences sociales à l’Université Humboldt Berlin et à l’ENS Cachan. Pour sa mémoire sur « Loterie et démocratie : Perspectives historiques et théorique de la démocratie » (2005, LIT Verlag), elle a obtenu le Prix Erhard-Höpfner. En 2009, elle a terminé son doctorat en sciences sociales et politiques à l’Institut universitaire européen de Florence. La thèse a été publiée en 2014 par Palgrave MacMillan sous le titre « Framing Citizen Participation. Participatory Budgeting in France, Germany and the United Kingdom » (édition en chinois, 2017). Parallèlement, elle a participé à un projet de recherche international sur les budgets participatives européens financé par la Fondation Hans Böckler et a été associée à la Berlin Graduate School for Social Sciences et au Centre Marc Bloch.  Entre 2009 et 2019, elle a été chercheuse (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) à la chaire de « sociologie générale » de l’Institut des sciences sociales (ISS) de l’Université Humboldt Berlin. Durant le semestre d'hiver 2019-20 ella était professeur invitée à la chair de « sociologie générale » et a été depuis associée à la chaire de « sociologie générale et de la culture » avec un programme postdoc de l’Université Humboldt. Entre 2020 et 2022 elle a été professeur invitée à la chair de « macrosociologie » à l'ISS. En juin 2020 elle a obtenu son HDR en sociologie avec un travail sur l’optimisation de soi qui est paru sous le titre « Sociologie de l’optimisation de soi » (Soziologie der Selbstoptimierung) chez Suhrkamp stw (avril 2021).;

Anja Röcke is a sociologist, her research interests include cultural sociology, general sociology, sociological theory and political sociology. Since October 2023 she works as lecturer at Saarland University in the Department of European Social Research. Anja Röcke studied social sciences (sociology and political science) at Humboldt-University and École Normale Supérieure Cachan. Her diploma thesis on "Lottery and Democracy. Historical and Democratic-Theoretical Perspectives" (2005, LIT Verlag) was awarded the "Erhard-Höpfner-Preis". In 2009, she received her doctorate in "Social and Political Sciences" at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. She holds a doctoral degree in social sciences from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Her doctoral thesis was published in 2014 by Palgrave MacMillan: "Framing Citizen Participation. Participatory Budgeting in France, Germany and the United Kingdom" (Chinese translation 2017). At the same time, she was involved in an international research project on European participatory budgeting funded by the Hans Böckler Foundation and associated with the Berlin Graduate School for Social Sciences and the Centre Marc Bloch. Between 2009 and 2019 she was associate professor ("wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin") at the Chair for General Sociology at the Department for Social Sciences of Humboldt-University Berlin, followed by a interim professorship (winter term 2019/20). Since then, she has been associate professor at the chair of General Sociology and Cultural Sociology based on third party funding as well as interim professor for Macrosociology at Humboldt University. She received a postdoctoral graduation (habilitation) in sociology from Humboldt University with a work on self-optimization (“Soziologie der Selbstoptimierung”, published with Suhrkamp, 2021).
