Christian Jacobs

Christian Jacobs hat 2024 seine Promotion an der Graduiertenschule für Global Intellectual History der Freien Universität abgeschlossen. Die Arbeit untersucht, wie die Frauenbewegung, die sogenannte Neuen Rechten und postmigrantische Aktivist*innen den Kulturbegriff in Frankreich von den 1960er bis in die 1980er Jahre nutzten. Für die Promotion war Stipendiat am Deutschen Historischen Institut in Paris und Gastwissenschaftler an der EHESS Paris sowie an der Sciences Po Paris. Zuvor hat er Geschichte in Freiburg, Martinique, Taipei und Berlin studiert. Er hat über Maoismus in Frankreich, postkoloniale Erinnerungskultur in Westeuropa und (post)-migrantischen Aktivismus in Frankreich publiziert. Weitere Forschungsinteressen sind die globale Ideengeschichte, soziale Bewegungsforschung und die Bedeutung der Dekolonisierung in Europa.;

Christian Jacobs est chercheur postdoctoral à la Graduate School for Global Intellectual History de la Freie Universität de Berlin et associé au Centre Marc Bloch. Il a soutenu son doctorat en histoire en 2024 à la Freie Universität. Il travaille actuellement sur le manuscrit d'un livre basé sur son projet de doctorat qui explore la manière dont les activistes politiques ont utilisé les concepts de culture en France entre les années 1960 et 1980. Auparavant, il a étudié l'histoire à Freiburg, Martinique, Taipei et à Berlin. Pour ses projets de recherche, il a reçu des bourses de l'Institut historique allemand à Paris. Il a également été doctorant invité à l'EHESS Paris et à Sciences Po Paris. Christian a publié des textes sur le maoïsme en France, la culture mémorielle postcoloniale en Europe occidentale et l'activisme (post)-migrant en France.;

Christian Jacobs is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Graduate School for Global Intellectual History at Freie Universität in Berlin and an associated scholar at the Centre Marc Bloch. He defended his PhD in history in 2024 at the Freie Universität. He is currently working on a book manuscript based on his PhD research project that explores how political activists used concepts of culture in France from the 1960s to the 1980s. Previously, he has studied history in Freiburg, Martinique, Taipei, and Berlin. For his MA and PhD research projects, he has received fellowships at the German Historical Institute in Paris. He also was a guest scholar at EHESS Paris as well as Sciences Po Paris. Christian has published on Maoism in France, postcolonial memory culture in Western Europe, and (post)-migrant activism in France.
