Dr. Teresa Koloma Beck

Teresa Koloma Beck ist Professorin für Soziologie der Globalisierung an der Fakultät für Staats- und Sozialwissenschaft der Universität der Bundeswehr München. Sie studierte am I.E.P. Paris und an der Universität Witten/Herdecke und promovierte 2010 an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin über Veralltäglichungsprozesse im Bürgerkrieg. Der Schwerpunkt ihrer akademischen Arbeit liegt in der alltagssoziologischen Erforschung von Gewaltkonflikten und Globalisierungsdynamiken. Bevor sie anfang 2017 an die Universität der Bundeswehr kam, leitete sie am Centre Marc Bloch die deutsch-französische Nachwuchsgruppe »Espaces et Violences | Urbane Gewalträume« im deutsch-französischen Forschungsverbund Saisir l'Europe | Europa als Herausforderung (2013-2016). Zuvor arbeitete sie Professurvertreterin und wissenschaftliche Miterarbeiterinnen in verschiedenen internationalen und interdisziplinären Lehr- und Forschungskontexten, u. a. an der Universität Erfurt, der Universität Marburg und der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Sie ist Mitbegründerin der Arbeitsgruppe »Erfahrungen der Globalisierung« am Centre Marc Bloch, Mitglied des Arbeitskreises »Gewaltordnungen« in der Deutschen Vereinigung für Politische Wissenschaft (DVPW) und der Sektion »Politische Soziologie« in der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Soziologie. Ihre Forschung zu Kriegs- und Nachkriegsgesellschaften führte sie für ethnographische Forschungsaufenthalte nach Angola (2005/06), Mosambik (2010) und Afghanistan (2015).;

Teresa Koloma Beck est sociologue, spécialisée dans la recherche sur les conflits armés et la violence. Elle a étudié à Science Po Paris et  à l'Université de Witten/Herdecke et a fait un doctorat à l'Université Humboldt à Berlin. Dans ses recherches, elle s'intéresse aux dynamiques quotidiennes des conflits (armés). Au centre Marc Bloch, elle est responsable, avec Ariane Jossin, du groupe de recherche "Violences et espaces" qui fait partie du réseau de recherche franco-allemand "Saisir l'Europe | Europa als Herausforderung". Avant de sa arrivée au CMB, elle était professeure remplaçante pour International Conflict Management au Willy Brandt School of Public Policy à l'Université de Erfurt. De 2009 à 2012 elle travaillait au sein du projet de recherche collaboratif "The Politics of Building Peace" au Centre pour la Recherche sur les Conflits à l'Université de Marburg sur la réconstruction sociale et la maîtrise du passé après des conflits armés. De 2004 à 2009 elle était membre du groupe de recherche "Micropolitics of Armed Groups" à l'Université Humboldt à Berlin. En 2010, elle a soutenu sa thèse, issue de ces travaux, sur les processus de normalisation dans le contexte des guerres civiles. Elle fait partie de cercle d'études "Gewaltordnungen" au sein de l'Association allemande des sciences politiques (DVPW), dont elle était porte-parole de 2010 à 2013, ainsi que de la section "Sociologie politique" de l'Association allemande de sociologie (DGS). Dans le cadre de ses travaux, elle a a effectué deux longs séjours de recherche en Angola (2005/06), au Mozambique (2010) et en Afghanistan (2016).;

Teresa Koloma Beck is a sociologist, specialising in conflict and violence research. She holds diploma degrees from the I.E.P. Paris, France and the University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany and a PhD from Humboldt University Berlin. Her research focusses on the social dynamics of everyday life in violent conflicts. At the Centre Marc Bloch, she is heading, together with Ariane Jossin, the research group "Violence and space" within the Franco-German research project "Saisir l’Europe – Seizing Europe". Before she substituted the Chair for International Conflict Management at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy of Erfurt University. From 2009 to 2012, she worked on social transformation in postconflict societies in the framework of the collaborative research projekt "The Politics of Building Peace" at the Center for Conflict Studies at Philipps University Marburg. From 2004 to 2009, she was a part of the research group "Micropolitics of Armed Groups" at Humboldt University Berlin, where she concluded a PhD about normalisation processes in civil wars. Before starting her academic career she worked in organization consulting. She is member of the standing group "Orders of Violence" within the German Association of Political Sciences (DVPW) and of the section "Political Sociology" within the German Sociological Association (DGS). In the framework of her research on war and postwar societies, she spent extended time of field research in Angola (2005/06), Mozambique (2010) and Afghanistan (2016).
