VITA
Après un master en histoire et théorie politique à Sciences Po Paris, Christina Reimann a soutenu sa thèse en 2014 à l’Université Humboldt de Berlin ;
la recherche portait sur les changements constitutionnels et les réformes d’éducation en Belgique, Angleterre et en France à la fin du XIXe siècle. Après des postes de post-doctorante à Marbourg, Mayence, Göteborg et Stockholm, elle a travaillé de 2022 à 2026 comme chercheuse et enseignante à l’Université de Göteborg, ainsi que, à l’automne 2023, comme chargée de cours au campus franco-allemand de Sciences Po Paris à Nancy. Depuis le semestre d’été 2026, elle occupe un poste financé par la DFG (Eigene Stelle) à l’Université Humboldt. Ses recherches portent sur les villes portuaires en tant qu’espaces complexes de changements sociaux-culturels accélérées, véritables portails de la migration et de l’interconnexion mondiale. Alors que ses travaux antérieurs se concentraient sur Rotterdam et Anvers, son projet actuel porte sur Göteborg et Le Havre pendant l’entre-deux-guerres.

Body Eclectic: Visual Media, Urban Space, and Gendered Politics in Interwar Port Cities
Même à l’ère du numérique, le politique doit se dérouler à travers des rencontres dans l’espace public. L’objectif de ce projet est d’apporter un éclairage nouveau sur les sociétés proto-démocratiques de l’entre-deux-guerres qui ont fait preuve de résilience face au fascisme. Le projet examine comment la démocratie s’est concrétisée à travers des rencontres physiques autour d’événements politiques à Göteborg et au Havre pendant l’entre-deux-guerres. Il s’appuie sur des archives visuelles jusqu’alors inexplorées, associées à des sources écrites, pour analyser en quelle mesure des manifestations publiques dans l’espace urbain ont pu soutenir les démocraties naissantes en Suède et en France. L’étude met également en avant le genre comme catégorie analytique pour comprendre la sociabilité démocratique de l’entre-deux-guerres. Je me concentre sur trois types d’événements politiques : les marches de protestation, les cérémonies officielles et les rassemblements de partis politiques, en explorant la manière dont les individus disciplinaient leurs corps, exprimaient leurs identités de genre et utilisaient les espaces urbains. Je suggère que les rassemblements de rue ne constituaient pas seulement une menace pour le développement démocratique, mais qu’ils permettaient au contraire son exercice et la sociabilité politique. Cette recherche compare les villes portuaires de Göteborg et du Havre, déplaçant ainsi l’attention habituellement centrée sur les nations et les capitales de l’histoire politique de l’entre-deux-guerres. En mettant l’accent sur les similitudes entre les communautés de ces deux villes portuaires, cette approche remet en question les récits établis sur la démocratie « stable » suédoise et la démocratie « fragile » française de l’entre-deux-guerres.
