Projet de Recherche

Ce projet revisite le concept de séparation en s’appuyant sur la théorie de la « diremption » de Gillian Rose. S’inspirant de la conception que le jeune Hegel avait de la diremption (Entzweiung) comme source de la nécessité de la philosophie, le projet de Rose développe une critique approfondie des conflits qui sont au cœur de la société capitaliste moderne. Pour Rose, le travail philosophique doit se situer au sein de l’antinomie de la culture qui découle de la séparation entre le droit et l’éthique, telle qu’elle s’exprime dans la « diremption » entre la liberté individuelle et la non-liberté collective. Afin de restituer la spécificité de ce concept de séparation, le projet met en évidence la tension, dans la notion hégélienne de « diremption », entre une « diremption » relative et ontologique et une séparation absolue, propre à une culture donnée. En rassemblant les éléments d’un concept de séparation à travers une analyse de la manière dont Rose s’approprie la « diremption » pour une histoire politique, ainsi que de ses sources philosophiques et de ses implications, le projet contribue aux débats actuels en histoire de la philosophie et en philosophie politique continentale.
