The Sound of Nature: Soundscapes and Environmental Awareness, 1750-1950 is an international collaborative research project funded jointly by the AHRC and the DFG and hosted by Cardiff University and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Through interdisciplinary scholarship in environmental history and literary studies, the project aim to recover and engage with representations of natural sound across two centuries that shaped many of our current environmental ideologies and existing institutions for conservation.
