Thursday, June 15 9.15 Arrival 9.30 Jakob Vogel Director of the CMB Welcome 9.45 – 10.00 Introductions David Fopp and Birgit Müller 10.00 – 12.00 Getting to know one-another: – Personal perception of the urgency of action in the face of climate change and personal and political coping – Strategies with the existential threat and the injustices of climate change and its causes and consequences. 12.00 – 13.00 Lunch break 13.00 -14.30 In the first session of the afternoon: – Practical solutions developed by entrepreneurs and planners. How to implement and realize them in the short time we have left. Obstacles encountered, short-term and longer-term goals. What would need to happen? – An initial five-minute presentation from entrepreneurs and planners as an introduction to the discussion. 14.30 – 15.00 Coffee Break 15.00 – 18.00 In the second session in the afternoon: – Social movement strategies. How to address urgency and reflect this in future organizing (focus on mass movement; disruption; etc.?). – Differences and similarities between German and French climate movements. – How can they influence each other? Which internal organization (grassroots democracy) and which forms of action resonate with the general population (in informal discussions with relatives, acquaintances, colleagues, neighbors), with media, with fellow citizens? – An initial five-minute contribution by participants from social movements as an introduction to the discussion. Birgit +33648581804) Friday, June 16 9.30 – 10.30 Develop a strategic plan in the perspective of 2030. How do we get a discussion going in the public about the need for limitation, restriction, sobriety? What limiting and enabling frameworks (distributional measures; laws, regulations; …) do we call for as a matter of priority. 10.30 – 11.00 Coffee Break 11.00 – 12.30 Break-out Groups: Which concrete measures for the provision of „basic services“ (transport, housing, etc.), for collective consumption and transport, for reuse and reparability we demand and how they can be enforced? 12.30 – 13.30 Lunch 13.30 -15.00 Summary of the results of the morning: – Discussion: how do we generate disruptive change, while deepening democracy? What kind of spaces for discussion and action and tools do we need; should we demand ? – How do French and German approaches cross-fertilize each other ? 15.00 – 15.30 Coffee Break 15.30 – 16.00 In smaller working groups we then consider what does this mean concretely for our movement/group? 16.00 – 17.30 Conclusions from the workshop, with regard to discussions with decision-makers and planners and perspectives for the autumn workshop.
