Representation, identity, memory: The politics of social movements since the 1970s
The workshops address various dimensions of the evolving politics of social movements since the 1970s, focusing on the role of representation, identity and memory in feminist struggles and theory, in the transformation of antisemitism after the Holocaust and in the emergence of a politics of memory in post-war European societies. Led by international faculty from different disciplinary backgrounds, the workshops offer reflections on these issues from sociological, historical and philosophical perspectives to develop a better understanding of the conflicts and contradictions that have emerged within progressive social movements over the past half-century.
