Biografie

Italo Alves ist Doktorand in Philosophie an der Loyola University Chicago. Er hat einen Master-Abschluss in Philosophie und einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Sozial- und Rechtswissenschaften von der Katholischen Universität in Porto Alegre (PUCRS), Brasilien. Er interessiert sich für die Überschneidungen von kritischer Gesellschaftstheorie und Ästhetik und schreibt derzeit an einer Dissertation über die ästhetischen Dimensionen von Axel Honneths Philosophie. Er hat über Hegel, Marx, Goffman und die zeitgenössische kritische Theorie veröffentlicht. Italo war Gastwissenschaftler am Exzellenzcluster Normative Orders der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, am Fachbereich Philosophie der Université de Montréal, an der School of Public Policy and Administration der Carleton University und am Fachbereich Soziologie der Concordia University of Edmonton.;

Italo Alves est doctorant au département de philosophie de la Loyola University Chicago. Il a obtenu une maîtrise en philosophie et une licence en études sociales et juridiques à l'Université catholique de Porto Alegre (PUCRS), au Brésil. Il s'intéresse aux intersections entre la théorie sociale critique et l'esthétique, et rédige actuellement une thèse sur les dimensions esthétiques de la philosophie d'Axel Honneth. Il a publié des articles sur Hegel, Marx, Goffman et la théorie critique contemporaine. Italo a occupé des postes de chercheur invité au Exzellenzcluster Normative Orders de la Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, au département de philosophie de l'Université de Montréal, à la School of Public Policy and Administration de la Carleton University et au département de sociologie de la Concordia University of Edmonton.;

Italo Alves is a Ph.D. candidate in the Philosophy department at Loyola University Chicago. He holds a master’s in Philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in Social and Legal Studies from the Catholic University in Porto Alegre (PUCRS), Brazil. He is interested in the intersections of critical social theory and aesthetics, and he is currently writing a dissertation on the aesthetic dimensions of Axel Honneth’s philosophy. He has published on Hegel, Marx, Goffman, and contemporary critical theory. Italo has held visiting research positions at the Normative Orders research cluster of Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, the Philosophy department at Université de Montréal, the School of Public Policy and Administration at Carleton University, and the Sociology department at Concordia University of Edmonton.
