Biographie
Italo Alves est doctorant au département de philosophie de la Loyola University Chicago. Il a obtenu une maîtrise en philosophie et une licence en études sociales et juridiques à l'Université catholique de Porto Alegre (PUCRS), au Brésil. Il s'intéresse aux intersections entre la théorie sociale critique et l'esthétique, et rédige actuellement une thèse sur les dimensions esthétiques de la philosophie d'Axel Honneth. Il a publié des articles sur Hegel, Marx, Goffman et la théorie critique contemporaine. Italo a occupé des postes de chercheur invité au Exzellenzcluster Normative Orders de la Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, au département de philosophie de l'Université de Montréal, à la School of Public Policy and Administration de la Carleton University et au département de sociologie de la Concordia University of Edmonton.
