Biographie
Italo Alves ist Doktorand in Philosophie an der Loyola University Chicago. Er hat einen Master-Abschluss in Philosophie und einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Sozial- und Rechtswissenschaften von der Katholischen Universität in Porto Alegre (PUCRS), Brasilien. Er interessiert sich für die Überschneidungen von kritischer Gesellschaftstheorie und Ästhetik und schreibt derzeit an einer Dissertation über die ästhetischen Dimensionen von Axel Honneths Philosophie. Er hat über Hegel, Marx, Goffman und die zeitgenössische kritische Theorie veröffentlicht. Italo war Gastwissenschaftler am Exzellenzcluster Normative Orders der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt, am Fachbereich Philosophie der Université de Montréal, an der School of Public Policy and Administration der Carleton University und am Fachbereich Soziologie der Concordia University of Edmonton.
