Researchtopic

My PhD project examines the impact of recent changes in the Swiss financial sector on the career trajectories and professional socialization of recent M.A. Finance graduates. It does so, by considering how their social origins and dispositions affect their integration into the field of finance.

The project is based on a case study of graduates of a M.A. Finance program from a Swiss university. Following scholarly work on economic and financial elites and professional socialization in finance, this case study offers insights into the understudied experiences of young professionals. This project employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating methodologies and concepts from educational studies, social mobility research, and elite sociology. The study contributes to the existing literature on elite cohesion, professional socialization, and financial sociology.
