Biography

A legal scholar specializing in comparative constitutional law, Rodolphe Royal was a doctoral researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch from 2017 to 2022, where he was notably responsible for organizing the seminars of the research group "State, Norms, and Political Conflicts". On January 6, 2023, he defended his doctoral thesis on the constitutional limits to privatization in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. He is now a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy, where his research focuses on the constitutional protection of future generations in comparative law
