Staat, Recht und politischer Konflikt

Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte (University of Southhampton)
Explaining LGBTQ+ political distinctiveness

LGBTQ citizens in Europe are political distinct form their cisgender heterosexual counterparts. They hold more liberal policy position, are more inclined to vote for left-wing political parties, and more inclined to turn out to vote on polling day. What explains this distinctiveness and what are its consequences? Building on original research from across Western Europe, Stuart Turnbull-Dugarte will explain what makes LGBTQ voters political distinct and why this matters for politics and for society more broadly.
