Everyday life. History, epistemology and politics of a modern experience
The research project is dedicated to the representation, discursivation and politicisation of everyday life since the 19th century. It traces the history of "la vie quotidienne" as a category of experience used to discuss, visualize and critique the basic routines and conditions of life in modern societies. Based on the conceptual-historical thesis that 'everyday life' only became a key category of social self-reflection around 1900, the project reconstructs ideas of social, political and cultural imaginaries at play in the history of the concept.
