New agreement with the European University Institute in Florence

April 12

The Centre Marc Bloch has signed a cooperation agreement with the European University Institute. Jakob Vogel, Director of the CMB and Renaud Dehousse, President of the EUI, signed the agreement in April 2022. This agreement with the renowned EUI in Florence is part of the CMB's European cooperation strategy.

"Through its researchers, the CMB has already had very good contacts with the EUI for some time," underlines Jakob Vogel. "I am all the more pleased that these individual collaborations now evolve into an institutional partnership and intensify the cooperation on topics such as global migration or social and ecological transformations in Europe."

The agreement includes collaboration in the organization of scientific events, especially summer schools for young scientists, and the development of joint research and publication projects. In addition, both partners support scientific exchange through research stays at the respective partner institute. Furthermore, two researchers or doctoral candidates from each institution will be allowed to spend a few months at the partner institution every year. Thus, this cooperation is part of the mobility program of the CMB, which has been strongly expanded in recent years.

The European University Institute (EUI) is one of the leading institutes in Europe for research in the social sciences and humanities. The EUI was founded in 1972 on the initiative of six European countries and has developed into a central location for international research and higher education, especially in the field of political and social sciences.
