The Oxford Centre for European History (OCEH) is organising the workshop ‘Future Directions in European History: ECR Research and Funding Opportunities’, in collaboration with the Centre Marc Bloch, Berlin. The event is specifically intended for senior graduate students and early career researchers working in early modern and modern British and European history at Oxford. It will provide a unique opportunity to share research and receive feedback, as well as to get an introduction to grant and study opportunities at postdoctoral level in Britain and Europe. Professors Jakob Vogel (Director of the Centre Marc Bloch, Berlin), Madeleine Dungy (Research Fellow, Norwegian University of Science and Technology), Patricia Clavin (Professor of Modern History, University of Oxford), and Giuseppe Marcocci (Chair of the Oxford Centre for European History) will participate in the meeting.
The workshop will be structured as follows:
2 pm | Welcome and introductions
2.15 pm | Research presentations (followed by Q&A)
3.15 pm | Coffee & tea
3.45 pm | Future research opportunities
5 pm | Drinks reception
How to participate:
Third and fourth year DPhil students and early career researchers are invited to participate in the
workshop and give a short presentation (5-7 minutes) about their work if they wish. The number of
available places is limited. For signing up, please email oceh@history.ox.ac.uk by 12 pm of Thursday
14 April. (In case you wish to give a short presentation, please specify your research topic.
