Biographie

Aliénor Ballangé studiere Europastudien in Paris und wurde von Sciences Po Paris in politischer Theorie promoviert. Sie schloss ihre Doktorarbeit im Jahr 2018 unter dem Titel "Eine Erfindung Brüssels: Die Europäische Integration: Durch das Volk oder für das Volk?" ab. Eine Publikation des Werks wurde 2022 von Editions de la Sorbonne unter dem Titel: Gemeinschaftliche Demokratie. Eine kritische Genese der Europäischen Union veröffentlicht.

Aktuell arbeitet Aliénor Ballangé als Postdoktorandin an der Goethe Universität Frankfurt. In Zusammenarbeit mit Rainer Forst forscht sie im Bereich der politischen Theorie und bereitet ein Buchprojekt über die Grenzen und Unschärfen des Konzepts der Postdemokratie vor.

Neben ihren Forschungstätigkeiten hat Aliénor Ballangé an der Sciences Po Paris und in den Politikinstituten von Saint-Germain-en-Laye und Bordeaux unterrichtet.

Vertrauen schaffen durch inklusiven Konflikt: Agonistischer Pluralismus als Antwort auf die Gefahr der Desintegration in Europa?

Europe has been going through a crisis of political legitimacy for the last three decades. Today the “permissive consensus”, according to which European citizens trusted their political leaders to take charge of Europe’s destiny without having to worry about it, is at an end. But couldn’t this moment of crisis also represent a counterintuitional opportunity to strengthen the integration process “from below”? Couldn’t it be an opportunity to rebuild a more rationalized trust amongst the European people themselves, and between supranational leaders and European citizens? Here, my aim is to show that popular discontent towards the EU can paradoxically be seen as a democratic momentum where technocratic leaders are asked to justify their political choice before citizens who are more informed and more politicized than ever before.
