Biographie

Daniela Heimpel is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Montreal Centre for International Studies (CÉRIUM) and an associate researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch. She has defended a PhD in political theory on the idea of a European citizenship education (Université de Montréal / Université de Nantes, 2020). In addition, she co-directed a collaborative research project on "challenges of pluralism" in contemporary liberal societies in Europe and North America ("Les défis du pluralisme", 2014-2018). She is currently working on bi- or multilingual education and notably the "European school" model. Her broader research interests include education, citizenship, democracy, demoi-cracy, pluralism, cosmopolitanism, transnationalism, European integration and EU education policies.
