Biography

Since 2021, Alix Winter is research and cooperation officer at the Centre Marc Bloch where she supports the directorate in developing strategic partnerships in Europe and is in charge of preparing and fostering the CMB’s cooperation with national and international partners. Furthermore, she advises the researchers in questions of third party funding and in planning and submitting research projects.

 

Before joining CMB, she has worked as coordinator at the Robert K. Merton Center for Science Studies at Humboldt University Berlin. From 2016 to 2020, she worked as scientific officer at the Forum Transregionale Studien.

 

In 2013/14 and 2016, she was, first, PhD, later, postdoc researcher at New Europe College (Romania).

Alix Winter studied history, romance studies, and political sciences in Bielefeld, Freiburg i. Br., Paris and Potsdam and made a PhD in history at Versailles and Potsdam in the context of the EU-funded Marie Curie ITN-Network “ENGLOBE”. In 2016 she finished her PhD on discourses on world trade in the European press of the early 19th century which has been published under the title „Protektionismus und Freihandel. Europäische Pressedebatten um globale Märkte zur Zeit Napoleons“ by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht.
